Legal Question in Immigration Law in Michigan

I'm a US citizen currently engaged to a South Korean citizen. We are planning on getting married in Vancouver, British Columbia in 2014. What is the appropriate visa that we should apply for in order to allow her to live and/or work in the US once we are married?

It would be the K-3/I-130 visa process that you will likely want to undertake after the marriage.

You may find information on the process here:

The I-130's are currently being approved before the K-1's, and the K-1 visa will be denied if the I-130 is approved first. This means, you really just need to apply for your wife's greencard abroad, so that she can be interviewed at the U.S. Consulate & obtain her immigrant visa before she is eligible to enter the United States.

You can find more information from the U.S. Department of State website & the USCIS website.

Good luck!
