Legal Question in Immigration Law in Michigan
foreign born son of military in 1967
When I served in Vietnam in 1966-67 I had a son with a Vietnamese woman who worked for the DaNang Press Center which was run by the USMC where I served. When I had to leave Vietnam she was due to deliver in 5 months. The USMC in the Press Center stated they would help her get papers to follow me to US. They LIED & kicked her out after I left! US Govt. would not help me secure papers for her to come to US. Spoke with her via phone & letters. Lost all communications in Jan 1968 due to war. She died of illness on 01/13/1971. Her younger brother & her former co-worker raised my son. I found out about him and his mother in 1995 via mail. My son, his wife & youngest son are now in US with two oldest children still held in Vietnam. I Need copy of the law that granted US Citizenship to foreign born offspring of US Military/US Citizen, in a war zone that was in effect on 11/10/1967. I have seen it but cannot find a copy of it. Please Help me get my son's Citizenship reinstated. Need ASAP! ((Oldest daughter is now almost 17)) Time is running out. WAP
