Legal Question in Immigration Law in Michigan

immigration

I had my interview for adjustment of status this week. They didn't deny me, but they asked me to provide them with an affidavit stating that family and friends supported me for the last 10 years,

since I didn't work because of my status. What kind of evidence do I need to take with me and what do I need to write in that affidavit? My sister and my girlfriend helped me through all these years. Also, do you think that they going to approve my application?

Re: immigration

Hi, you should submit the affidavits from your sister and girlfriend stating what they provided to you and on what dates. They should also include evidence of their immigration status (i.e. birth certificate if born in U.S. or naturalization certificate). How are you applying for your green card since usually it is the sponsor who has to prove that they supported you? Is this an employment based petition?

Also, if your girlfriend or sister included you as a dependent on their tax returns, you can also submit that in addition to your affidavit.

As for if you will be approved, I cannot tell you that based on what you told me. I would need to find out more about your case in order to give you my opinion.

If you need more info or have any questions, call us. Good luck!
