Legal Question in Immigration Law in Michigan

immigration question

i'm married to a US citizen & i want to apply for adjustment of status thru him soon. i entered here legally with passport and visa.. i've applied before as unmarried child under 21 and that is still pending. i'm just wondering would the risk of denial be higher this time since it's the 2nd time applying? also, what if i no longer have a copy of my I-94?

Re: immigration question

This second petition won't be penalized by the filing of the first. The fact that you filed before should have not have any effect on your current filing. Is there a stamp in your passport from when you entered? Did you keep a copy of the I-94? If you need assistance, please contact us.

Re: immigration question

It should be fine as long as you have a passport stamp that shows legal entry into the US.

If not, then you'll need to apply for a replacement I-94.
