Length of Time to Obtain Green Card

What would be an approximate and appropriate length of time to obtain what is commonly called a Green Card for a person living in Michigan and immediately filing all required information when due?

It really depends on what basis you are applying for permanent residency. However, assuming that you are applying for immigrant benefits based on marriage to a U.S. Citizen, current processing times are between 120 and 150 days, based on a recent report from the American Immigration Lawyers Association. Employment based immigration petitions must be filed with the Regional Service Office in Lincoln, Nebraska which is now backed up well over a year.
