Legal Question in Immigration Law in Michigan

Voluntary Departure

A friend opted for voluntary departure and the judge gave him 30days to make arrangements to leave.he is currently in detention.the deportation officer in charge of his case says he can only leave on 2 days out of the month (which happen to fall next week) and that doesn't give him much time to make necessary arrangements to leave as we are having trouble retrieving his passport. Also, to book a flight now for next week is more expensive than anticipated. Is there no way we can make arrangements for him to leave anytime before the 30 days is up and not be confined to those 2 days because it is really short notice and at this point beginning to seem next to impossible.if we arrange for the 2 days in the month after that then the 30 days will be up and we do not want this to turn into a final order of deportation

Re: Voluntary Departure

Where is the person from? That would impact on the date? Also, ICE can extend the voluntary departure date so that there is no final order of deportation.

Re: Voluntary Departure

There is likely a misunderstanding with the deportation officer. Clarify if the two days of the month are the days that immigration will transport him if he doesn't have other arrangements for leaving within the 30 days.
