Re: car accident
In the State of Michigan, as in most States, we have what is called no-fault insurance. No-fault insurance provides that we always look to ourselves first, and therefore, you would be responsible for and damages to your car. If you have a deductible you which you are required to pay you may receive $500 from the other driver provided the accident was their fault.
The rules are different if you do not own your own vehicle. But, if you own a vehicle you are required to have insurance and therefore, you would be the responsible party.
