Legal Question in Insurance Law in Michigan

My car was stolen early this morning. I filed a police report and then contacted my insurance company. The insurance company sent me a packet of stuff that I have to sign. They want access to my "Financial records, including Ledgers, Canceled Checks or Drafts, Invoices and Account Statements" and also "Telephone and billing communication records". I have nothing to hide, but I am really uncomfortable handing over my phone and communication records. Can the insurance company deny my claim if I refuse to give them access to this information?

Yes. They can also force an examination under oath, which you must comply with or your claim will be denied. Call us at your convenience 8007939859

Yes, Michigan law allows this. You might want to have an attorney on board so you don't get messed with any more than allowed by law. Tim Klisz kliszlaw.com
