Legal Question in Insurance Law in Michigan

disabilty

I'm on disability from my employer since 1998. The Prudential company handles this Insurance. The employer has just changed carrier for their LTD. Prudential just offered me a buyout which I will not accept! Since I will be dealing directly with Prudential now should I get an attorney?

Re: disabilty

Not necessarily. Just make sure all of your communications with the insurer are in writing - don't talk on the phone so you will always have a permanent record of what Prudential is saying. You will also then have time to compose an intelligent response to any questions it has of you, or give you time to decline to answer an invasive or irrelevant inquiry.

If something comes up later you can always go to an attorney.
