Legal Question in Insurance Law in Michigan
I am in Michigan and was in an accident in March of 08. In April of this year I was sent to an IME by my insurance company who lied about the severeness of the accident and said I was able to return to work. My insurance company suspended my benefits and said I needed to get rebuttles from my doctors in which I did. It took 2 months to get the first one and then I was told it was not acceptable and had to have one from my pysician. It took him 3 months to get one done. I sent in the rebuttles in early October and when I questioned my insurance claim person, she told me she had 30 days by law to process my rebuttles. Then after a month later, I was then told I needed to have another IME which is by the same doctor. Can they do this and why can't I get my 1st party benefits for the wages I have lost from the IME in April till now?
