Teen hurt getting out of vehicle before complete stop

A parent of a friend of my sons showed up at my door claiming my son was responsible for an injury his son sustained while exiting the vehicle my son was driving. The alleged incident took place approximately 8 or 9 days prior to the parent coming to my door. The parent and I spoke with my son about the incident. My son is 17 and he was dropping a friend off at his home. The friend was in the rear of the vehicle. The friend got out of the vehicle before the vehicle was at a complete stop. When the friend chose to exit the vehicle before it was stopped, my son stated he stopped the vehicle and put it in park. My son states that when he put the vehicle in park the vehicle rolled forward a bit, and the friend who already had his leg out of the car, twisted his leg or it was caught by the rear tire. My son said the boy claimed he was fine and went into his house. Apparantly the boy broke his leg.

The parent of the boy claims they have no insurance and wants me to turn it into my auto insurance. I do not feel that I should be responsible for his childs poor judgment to exit a moving vehicle. Second, if their child was injured so severly, why did they not call my home immediately to inform me. Am I liable to turn this in?
