Legal Question in Intellectual Property in Michigan
copyrights
My wife wrote and has copywrites to several songs. She had the original arrangements done in NYC on a ''pay for hire basis''. She has since rerecorded 2 of the songs with totally new arrangements with a local recording studio. They did the new arrangements and arranged for all of the musicians. She has paid the studio $3800.00 up front. Does this recording studio have any rights to her songs?

Re: copyrights
It doesn't seem so... what makes you think they would? You paid for the master recordings as invoiced right?
