Legal Question in Employment Law in Michigan

Discrimination

Is it against the law for an employer to ask someone to cut their hair and shave all facial hair? A fast food restaurant asked my son to cut his hair and shave his facial hair. My son did that but when he went for the orientation they said ''Don't call us we'll call you''.

I feel that my son went through the trouble of obliging by their rules, and they give him the line that we all know is not hopeful.

Please let me know if I have a chance to file a suit against this 1 billion served per day restaurant?

Re: Discrimination

Since you don't allege violation of any relgious belief, or racial discrimination or health issue, and your son did in fact shave his beard, etc. his employment is most likely only governed by the at-will employment rules.

Those basically say that an employee can be fired for any reason that doesn't violate a specific law. Nothing here indicates they did so.
