Answer to: do i not havea right to say anything?

Your mother was right when she told you to "mind your own business". If you write an anonymous letter to the university, your friend (who will find out) has the right to sue you for libel even if you're right. He will lose his job,you will lose a friend, and you may lose the lawsuit - which could end up ruining you financially.

You are under no legal obligation to notify anyone.

Many hospitals utilize random drug screens which will detect THC within 30-40 days of last contact. I find it difficult to believe that a marijuana high can't be detected by his cowokers.

But, to answer your question - do you have a right to say anything? Yes! Just be aware that all rights carry responsibilities, and the exercise of rights has consequences.
