Legal Question in Employment Law in Michigan

I was employed at a non-profit organization in Michigan, and resigned in March, 2010. The board of trustees voted to give me a severence package which included medical and full pay for 3 months after I left. I just received a letter from the board saying that they decided to renig on their committment due to the fact that they had less money that they thought they had. Is it legal for them to do this? (I have a family and 4 children, that I am now trying to provide for.) An answer from a legal team would be enormously helpful to me. Thank you!

Assuming you agreed based on these terms and did resign, it sounds like a breach of contract to me. www.kliszlaw.com. Tim Klisz
