Legal Question in Employment Law in Michigan

I am an employer, I had a sales person working for me on a draw + commission basis, she did however answer phones othe minor secretarial things, she has a12,000 commission check due her less 4000 in draws, she thinks I should hvae to pay her the 4000 because she did stuff around the office. am I liable to pay her?

You're liable to pay her for her hours worked in non-sales (nonexempt) work. You and she have to record those hours and pay her at least minimum wage or whatever you agree on as an hourly wage. The draw is set off against sales work only.
