Legal Question in Employment Law in Michigan
"Hourly wage cut"
Can My employer deduct $2/hr. for two weeks, then $1/hr. indefinitely out of My $11/hr. salary as an alternative to being fired for failing an urine screen?
Though not driving since that time, I have still maintained My "Driver" title not "Laborer".

Re: Wage reduction in stead of firing.
Yes -- unless you have an employment contract or a union contract that prohibits it. The employer cannot change your pay for work you have already done. However, for future work, the employer can change pay, benefits or other terms and conditions of work. If you do not agree, your remedy is to quit. Of course, the employer cannot do any of this or take any other employment action if the reason for doing so is discrimination based on race, color, national origin, sex, religion, age or disability.
