Legal Question in Employment Law in Michigan
i am an independent contractor sales rep paid strictly on commission as a 1099. one company, who activates co-op advertising agreements with accounts, has now started charging back commissions against these co-op agreements. i have no contract, only a non-compete agreement. Can a company arbitrarily assign a commission percentage to a co-op ad agreement and charge that back against commissions? (in Michigan if that matters)

You are in independent contractor, so you must have a contract, even if not in writing. I would need to know more about your situation to see if I could help. Call me at (313)402-0853 to discuss. Thanks, Tim Klisz
