Legal Question in Employment Law in Michigan

Non compete agreements

When I began work for my previous employer, I was required to sign a noncompete agreement. Earlier this year my employer terminated my employment as a sales director for their company. I have been approached for a sales position by a company that has some services that are competitive with my previous employer. Since my previous employer fired me, am I still under restrictions of their noncompete that they required me to sign as a condition of employment?

Re: Non compete agreements

yes, basically you are still under the noncompete. You would have to read it carefully, and then negotiate with the old employer. Contact me at www.kliszlaw.com to discuss further. Tim Klisz
