Legal Question in Employment Law in Michigan

Right to have a paper check?

My Employer has told us that we must get direct deposit, or a 'totalpay card' - you are paid fees every time you use this card. Despite the 'convenience', there have already been problems and it's only been implemented for 2 pay periods. There was a problem with the system on Saturday when the money was supposed to be deposited so our money didn't go in, and Monday was Martin Luther King day so we didn't get our money until Tuesday. This created extremely large inconveniences. It is very convenient for them, but NOT for me and I want a paper check. Is there a law that says that I have the right to have a paper checks? I don't want to demand a paper check until i know for sure.

There is no right to a paper check. Keep complaining and you might find yourself without a job because I assume you are an at will employee. Be very careful. www.kliszlaw.com Tim Klisz
