Legal Question in Employment Law in Michigan
Hi, I was put on paid leave pending an Investigation. I was brought into my managers office, was asked if I knew the purpose of a few things, then was drilled with multiple questions from an incident that had happened approx. a week to a week in a half prior. I was unable to look at what I charted, I was asked to leave until the "investigation" was completed. I have been contacting HR via phone, keep getting the run around, I have no idea what this "investigation" entails, no one will talk with me. I went to HR to get my personal file, The receptionist printed it out, informed me that the newer items were not on there yet, I told her I would take what she had in her hand and would come back for the rest, she went and talked with someone, they both came back and refused to give me what was in her hand, the other lady stated that it is policy to give them up to 48 hrs to complete my file, I had them print off the policy, there was no such thing printed on it about the 48 hrs, and I still left empty handed. I have not been in the loop at all through this situation, is there anything I can do?

Yes. STOP!!! You have no justifiable reason for continuing to badger management. If you don't stop this ridiculous behavior you could lose your job. I'm pretty sure you know what you did to foster this investigation. Your time would be better spent in coming up with your own action based remedy (i.e. not just words) as a defense.
