Legal Question in Employment Law in Michigan
Hello, I was recently fired for having too many customer complaints. (there are only two I'm aware of and were a couple months apart) I went into work and the boss showed me the complaint. The complaint was like 90% untrue. There was an employee present the entire time. My boss was even working the day of the complaint. If I had been screaming bloody murder at her he would have heard it. To make this kind of short in our company people get warnings, write-ups, and suspensions. I have one complaint on my file from 4 years ago. I have not even received any verbal warnings leading to this. Every company complaint has always been investigated. They did not do any investigating or even ask to hear my side of the story. I know if I file unemployment they will deny it. I was wondering if I stood a chance fighting this in court. To me I feel like it was used as an excuse to get rid of me. Also should I waste my time and force them to listen to my side? Thank you for your time.

File for unemployment. If your employer objects and you are denied, you can request a hearing to state your case.
