Legal Question in Employment Law in Michigan

I recently fired an employee for a miriad of bad behavior. He came in a week later and asked me if we could put it in writing. I expect that he is attempting to start some trouble legally. Do I have to put the details of his firing in writing? Do I have to give him that information?

No. He is entitled to view his personnel record (if he has one) upon making the request in writing. If you are the only one who has ever had access to the record, you don't have to give him that.
