Legal Question in Employment Law in Michigan
I resigned from a 1099 independent contractor position 2 weeks ago and now the company is asking me to respond to questions regarding bad business practices that occurred while I was contracted. Am I obligated to respond to them now that my contract has been cancelled at my request?

No, you are certainly not under any legal option to talk. If you get sued or the police are investigating something, that is different. You might want to consult with an attorney to get the whole story and advise you appropriately.
