not telling employer recently divorced to keep spousal health benefits

Are you required to notify your employer if you get divorced? We believe someone we know has kept it secret to maintain paid healthcare and other benefits for his former spouse, by never changing his tax status, residency, bank accounts, etc. Thank you

An individual is not required to tell an employer that they have gotten a divorce. However, if you are correct about your co-worker's conduct, they may be committing a fraud for which they could be prosecuted and/or sued.
