Legal Question in Employment Law in Michigan

Termination due to work history ommisions

I was terminated from a local community college because I did not include all of my work history. I was required to include at least 10 years of history, and went back as far as 15 years. The job app. web site did NOT say to include ALL jobs, just 10 years, starting with the last or current. I was fired due to ''falsifying an application'' 85 days later. (after 90 days I would have been off probation & been eligible for benefits & union coverage). I do admit one of the jobs I did NOT record was one that I was terminated from. The college has admitted that they would make changes to their system, & have done so because of me. This is an admission of fault on their part. Also, if the Social Security report that revealed my omissions was reviewed sooner, or before my hiring, then I would not have been subjected to this horrible experience. I received only favorable evaluations during the duration of my employment. Please help ! JR

Re: Termination due to work history ommisions

you were an at will employee and could have been fired for any reason. The falsification is just their reason to justify. I see no case here, sorry. Www.kliszlaw.com. Tim Klisz
