Legal Question in Employment Law in Michigan
I just walked out of my job not even an hour ago. My boss of ten years wants ME to pay 7 bounced check fees for the business because I didn't get the deposit to the bank on time due to ANOTHER employee being LATE relieving me. Yes, it was my responsibility to get his money to the bank on time while he was on vacation, but I don't feel it's right that I pay HIS bounced check fees due to another employee making me late to the bank. Am I eligible for unemployment?

No, you're not. You will be, if you get fired when you refuse to pay. Also he can't dock your pay as that would be a violation of the Wage\Hour Act.

You could rethink your hot-headed decision and reconcile with your boss. If his cash flow is so tight that it required the deposit on that day, he may need you to keep his business going. Looks like he's on the edge if that many checks bounced (It is a 4 year felony).
Cooler heads might keep you both in business.
