Legal Question in Employment Law in Michigan
I have worked for this company for four years and have always been one of the top loan officer. Since the economy took a dive its is hard for any of us to hit our numbers. In July we got a new district manager and that is when it all started. Even though business has been slow 3 out of 4 of us got a small raise for the year. I was one of them that got a raise. Then August came and me and another employee got written up for not hitting our numbers she is a white female and I'm black. We were both told if we didnt hit our numbers the next month we would be put on a performance improvement plan which means you have 60 or 90 days to find a job depending on what plan they have you on. THe big issue I'm having is he pulled each one of us in the back for our monthly reviews which none of hit our goals again. When it was my turn I went back there thinking everything was good because my co-worker said she didn't get put on the pip I was surprise when I went back there for my turn and he put me on a pip I couldnt belive it because both of us had the sam numbers and I couldnn't believe I was the only one. When he told me he was putting me on a pip I had a breakdown I went home and had a nervous breakdown and I have been on medical ever since. I'm ready to call them and tell them I can not ever come back there because of the unfair treatment. What I need advice on is how to handle this situation I want to make sure I get unemployment. And I need to do something ASAP since my medical is up. I need to make sure I get unemployment. Please help!!

Don't quit because you will not receive unemployment for sure. Go back to work and see what happens. You might be surprised that you still have your job after a while. Good luck. www.kliszlaw.com Tim Klisz
