Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Michigan
Apartment Rent
My friends and I are renting an apartment for a management company. And I'm pretty sure it doesn't say anywhere in their contract that we signed, that they are allowed to walk into our apartment while we are home or not home. Today I guess our landlord walked into our apartment and yelled for us which I have a problem with, especially since it was about 10-10:30 at night. Wondering if there was a law or something against this because it does not seem right.

Re: Apartment Rent
Your landlord is trespassing as he does not have the right to do this. He must give you advance notice before entering your apartment, unless of course you invite him in.
Be mindful that telling your landlord that you are going to call the police on him for trespassing, could set you up for a negative relationship and possible retaliatory action.
