Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Michigan
My daughter is in college and rents a room. She wants to change rooms due to roomate issues
and now the landlord is charging a 130.00 fee because he is bully. No one has ever been
charged before. The underlining problem is that my daughter used to work for him and he
has it in for her. Is this legal

Your answer depends on her contract with the landlord. His right to charge (for changes) and her duty to pay is spelled out. If the right to charge and the duty to pay is not spelled out, then there is none, other than her duty to pay under the terms of the lease.
Why did your daughter move into a property run by a person who is a bully, that has it in for her? She would be smart to move out completely, not just change rooms.
