Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Michigan
Eviction
I currently live with my ex-husband to which I have no rights to his home. He now wants me out. He filed a paper with the courts to evict me for which I have 30 days to move. If I do not move by the date given and he returns to the court to file the paperwork to proceed, how long will it take him to actually kick my son and I out? I just want to know if I have a couple of months in which I will be able to find another place or if it will be a very fast process. Can you tell me please? Thank you.

Re: Eviction
If you have been served with the 30-day notice to quit, and the 30 days has expired, and he now goes to court to obtain an eviction order, you will have about ten days after the hearing to move out or have your belongings removed by a sheriff if are not out by the specified date.
