Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Michigan
IMy daughter and I have lived with a man for 6 years and 8 months. I have paid him $400.00 a month rent but he always wrote shared living expenses on the reciept and now he tells me I have one week to move out or hes changing the locks on the doors and if I try to get in thats breaking and entering. Can he leaglly do this?

No he cannot. You are a tenant and have rights of tenants. He needs to give you a notice to quit, 7 or 30 days based on how he is considering your tenancy, and then file for eviction in court. If he throws you out, you have a case against him for damages. Good luck. www.kliszlaw.com. Tim Klisz
