Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Michigan
Landlord and Tenant Dispute
I am a previous tenant of a landlord and my question is that if there are more than one person(s) who have signed the lease is the landlord able to take just one person to small claims court?

Re: Landlord and Tenant Dispute
Yes. You're both responsible for the entire amount due under the lease. And whoever is the most collectible or hasn't disappeared, the landlord can and will go after. If the landlord gets a judgment against you, you have the option of suing your former roommate for his/her portion of the rent and trying to collect from him or her.
