Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Michigan

Lease agreement and Pets

I am contacting you because I have incurred a problem with my apartment management. I signed a lease about 6 months ago which my dogs were included in that lease. I have just received a letter of notification telling me that I have to get rid of my dogs or, move and still be responsible for my lease.

I think this is wrong and unjust being I signed the lease so that it did include my dogs and I even pay extra for my dogs. I have no intentions of getting rid of my dogs, being they are apart of my family and we have had them since they were puppy's. If I knew in advance that this problem would arise then I would have never signed the lease or, moved in here.

Is there any advice you can give me? If need be, I am willing to hire an attorney and, go to whatever length I have in order to keep my dogs.

Thank you in advance for your time and help in this matter, I hope to hear from you soon.

Re: Lease agreement and Pets

If your dogs are included in the lease, why would they now come after you to remove them? Is there something else here going on, or are they simply a dumb management company? I would love to know more and then I would be in a position to help you. Visit www.kliszlaw.com to discuss these details. Tim Klisz
