Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Michigan

If I am currently in a lease and my boyfriend moves in and I add him to the lease within the required time period but together we make to much money to live there, would they require he leave immediately or would they give me 30 day notice to relocate... Bassically release me from my lease?

Your landlord will not modify your lease in such a manner that either negates the lease, or permits you to leave without paying, unless your landlord is anxious to see you terminate your tenancy.

If you are currently receiving a government subsidy or rent payments paid by taxpayers, then you need to contact the department where you applied for this benefit. If you no longer need the assistance, because your boyfriend has now moved in, and the two of you can afford to pay rent without subsidy, then neither of you will be permitted to stay.

You need to read the documents that outline the rules and responsibilities that you agreed to abide by when you applied for this benefit.
