Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Michigan
Month to month leasing after end of lease
We have been living in our
apartment for almost two years now,
and our lease will be ending soon.
We need to extend our lease by one
month, however, our landlord told us
that there are only a 'certain number
of slots available' for month-to-
month tenants. We are willing to
pay the additional monthly cost for
extending by one month if necessary.
Can they refuse our request to
extend by one month after the end
of our lease (month-to-month)?

What was the original term of your lease and how much notice were you required to give in your lease?
