Noisy Alarm Clock
I have a landlord/roommate in the house in which I rent a room that has two very loud alarm clocks that go off from 5:30 to 6:30 am, continuously. I can hear them through the wall and through earplugs, even.
I have asked him to not let them go for so long, but he is not changing his habits once morning comes.
Being in the first month of a three month lease, is this reasonable reason to breach the lease? I would do so based on the fact that I am not able to enjoy a peaceful tenancy here and my sleep is disrupted daily.
The only mention of noise in the lease is under the ''house rules'' section and states: ''Tenant agrees to abide by any and all house rules....including....rules with respect to noise...'' There is nothing about the landlord's responsibility.

I do not think this is a legal reason to breach a lease. If you are in a 3 month lease, wait it out. You might find yourself owing the lease money even if you move out. Visit www.kliszlaw.com for more details. Tim Klisz
