Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Michigan
Non paying renter
My fiance and I own our home and let a friend begin living with us. He has been in our home for 4 1/2 months and is now 3 1/2 months behind on all of his bills. Now he is ignoring and avoiding us. We would like to kick him out. There was nothing signed in the beginning, just a verbal agreement. What is the best way to kick him out and tell him he dont get any of his belongings until he pays up? Thanks so much.

Give him a seven-day notice to quit. Please go to:

Page 13 describes the required contents of the notice.
