Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Michigan
property left at my house.
I had some family living at my hous, my Nephew, his girlfriend and their baby. They left on a trip 2 weeks ago. They called tonight and said they are not coming back. They do ot want any of their stuff they left here. How long do i need to keep it before I can get rid of it. They also owe me 7 months of back rent at $600 per month. They are in Oregon and I am in Michigan. Is there a way to sue them for that money?

I would recommend getting them to sign an agreement that they do not want to retrieve their stuff prior to getting rid of it, to protect you later. It should be possible to sue them, but you may need an Oregon attorney to do it.
