Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Michigan
I put a security deposit down on a house to rent. I moved in and the Landlords showed up after many phone calls that day. I moved in Aug of 2009 and was told by the landlords that they would return to do a walkthru the house, sign the lease and discuss rent payments. I am still living in this house today. The landlords have never returned. I am concerned they will try to take me to court for no payment of rent but they never returned any phone calls and I do not even have an address to send any money. I just would like to know what my rights are. I have been paying all utility payments on the house also.

Of course they can take you to court for not paying rent. You are living there and its not for free. I assume you have been holding the money to pay the rent once it is requested. If not, you should prepare for same as it will be coming. www.kliszlaw.com Tim Klisz
