Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Michigan
My rent was due on the first for 1000.00$ and now is 21 days late and they told me that if i didnt pay the 1000.00 plus 300.00 late fees for this month i would have to be out by the 23rd...what can i do?i offered to make payments and they said no i also have two children...

$300.00 late fee is outrageous! Consider disputing this fee as being unconscionable. Don't vacate the premises. Dispute the late fee. Demand to have an accommodation. As a hold over tenant, they will have to give you an additional 30 days notice and therefore, more time to leave.
