Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Michigan

We rent a house froma a man who was foreclosed on. The house goes to the sheriff's auction this week. There is a 6 month redemption period where if he can raise the funds he can get the house back. Our lease run's threw March.

He claims we still have to pay him rent. My first inclination is to just not pay rent and save the money nessasary to be able to move but I do not want to face a lwasuit down the road. What are my rights and obligations?
