Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Michigan
I am looking into renting one unit of a duplex in 30 days. I found one that I love, and would like to pay the security deposit (850) which is equal to one month's rent to hold it. How long do I legally have to move in if I do this.

You do not ever have to move in if you don't want to. You only have to pay rent according to the terms of the lease.
