Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Michigan
My roommates and I signed a lease for an apartment next year. Entering into the lease, we expected a total of six tenants. The five of us who live together presently signed the lease and mailed the forms to the sixth person. He has not yet signed the lease, but it looks like he is going to back out and not sign. Is there any method of legal recourse against him considering that he never signed a lease or agreement? Without a sixth person we would be lose several thousand dollars. Can he be held responsible?

He did not sign lease, he is not liable. The remaining 5 people who signed it are on the hook. Better find a 6th to fill in the gap. www.kliszlaw.com Tim Klisz
