Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Michigan
I signed a 24 month lease to rent a commerical space for my business. I closed the business before the lease expired. The lease has an Option to Terminate: "Tenant may terminate this lease at any time during the the base period of the lease with a 60 day written notice to landlord and payment of liquidated damages in the of $5100, an amoun equal to three monts rent."
Do I have any options to get out of the lease with out paying 5 months extra rent (I moved out at the start of the 60 day notice period)

It appears the language you cite is clear on the issue of termination and damages and that there is no way to terminate without paying the fee. Moreover, I assume that the lease was agreed upon and consented to by your business if it was validly executed and signed and if you are asking about it now.
However, without reviewing the entire lease document I cannot provide a definitive answer.
