Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Michigan
My son rented his house and unfortunately the renter owes him the water bill and several months rent. My son moved to Arizona and I (his mom) took over as Power of Attorney on real estate matters. I served the renter the Notice to Quit. Can I sue her in small claims court, for my son, even though I only have power of attorney? He definitely cannot come back to Michigan and does not want any involvement in this matter.
Thank you for responding.

As long as your POA includes powers related to lawsuits and real estate transactions, you should be ok. www.kliszlaw.com. Tim Klisz
