Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Michigan

Tenant problems

I had purchased a condo in Warren, Mi for my son to live in while he finished college. The Real Estate value has dropped 50% from the '05 purchase price. I decided to rent it out a couple yrs, rather than take a huge financial loss. I got a middle age man on Sec 8 in there. I had never heard of Sec 8, but his Realtor said it was for disabled. I had just spent 4k to update - new kitchen, bath, hardwood floors, etc. The man seems to be mentally ill - calls with phony complaints 2x weekly. Toilet plugged etc. When my husband has gone done 60min drive) he finds no problems, but tells me the tenant has turned the place, which was once beautiful, into a filthy pit. Filth everywhere you look. Doesnt even own a vacuum cleaner. In lease agreement I underlined premises to be ''kept in good repair & delivered up in like condition as when taken. I have been told that landlords have no rights in MI. I am not wealthy and have worked 70hrs a week to pay for this condo. Must I sit by while a man that does not work destroys my personal property, even though in the lease it says he is to maintain the property. He has only been in there 2.5 months & I fear when the lease is up in 10 mo, the all new appliances & flooring will be completely destroyed
