Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Michigan
Have a tenent that move in around a week ago. Hired an exterminator to take care of outside wasp without asking property manager or myself to take care of this. She then contacted me and want me to prorate her rent for the differene and pay for her bug spray. I told her no because it was general maintenence of the property. She came back with it being pre existing and life threatening. And said that she would contact her lawyer if I did not take care of it. Am I obligated to take care of this?

Generally, no. A standard lease provides nothing that allows her to assume this expense and be reimbursed for it. If your lease specifically provided for reimbursement in this situation, then you would need to do so. But it seems that she undertook this expense without asking the management, and generally you would not be responsible for this cost.
