Legal Question in Legal Ethics in Michigan
My daughter recently shipped a package from the post office where I live to her home in NYC. The package was picked up by the doorman and he said the package had been tampered with when he got it. There were several items missing from the package. Who is responsable for the contents being replaced? Did she have to buy insurance in order for the post office to pay for the contents?

Yes, the post office does not guarantee that the package will arrive intact, and even if you had insured the package....file a form and wait. Government immunity, no accountability, not a great business model. Use FED EX or UPS next time.
