Legal Question in Legal Ethics in Michigan
I just got my hair braided saturday and I noticed that my hair was already beginning to unravel. The braids I have are kinky twists, which usually lasts about 2-3 months. I complained about it tuesday and they retouched some of my braids today and I was still not satisfied. I paid 165 dollars and I asked for at least half my money back. The owner said I should have complained the day of but I didn't have it examined until tuesday by a professional cosmetologist. I thought 3 days was a reasonable amount of time to get a refund. Is that a reasonable amount of time?

This is a contracts question, where you didn't get what you paid for, instead of a legal ethics question, where an attorney didn't do what you paid for. If braided hair is intended to last substantially more than 3 days after braiding, then 3 days is a reasonable time to complain. If the second cosmetologist gives you a statement, in writing, that the work was not done according to industry standards, then you may have a case. You can try small claims court, but generally, cosmetic work, like art, has a lot of leeway as to what is standard, unless a judge could clearly see that the work was sub-standard.
